Volunteering with The Leprosy Mission CanadaShare Yourself with People in Need
When you support the work of The Leprosy Mission Canada by contributing your time and talents, you become the hands of Christ, reaching out to people in desperate need. To help you get involved in an area that fits you, we offer a variety of ways to volunteer.
Education and Awareness
If you enjoy public speaking or prefer to distribute literature, you can empower schools, churches and other community organizations to learn about leprosy and make a difference in the lives of those who suffer from this disease.

Volunteer Ideas and TipsThe best ideas come usually from volunteers themselves. They differ with the volunteer gifts, talents and their respective communities. The sky is the limit.
Some ideas that have been used in the past:
 Wrapping gifts- Selling artwork
- Collect spare change
- Having a bake sale
- Setting up a booth in a mall with our printed material
- Hosting a lunch, afternoon tea or dinner party with a purpose
(like raising a certain amount of money for a specific small project) - Having a silent auction
- Creating a youth/Sunday school program using existing Leprosy Mission stories
(e.g. the Umbrella Girl material) - Hosting a fashion show
- Collecting stamps to send in to our office
- Hosting a golf tournament
- Performing a concert, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to TLMC
- Asking friends and family to make a donation to TLMC in your honour instead of giving you a gift for a special occasion by creating a personal page on our website. See a sample personal page here. To create your own personal page, register for an account on our website.
Use your imagination! Anything that you can think of to raise money to cure someone from leprosy or to spread the word that the disease exists and needs to be stopped will help.
